How We Verify Reviews

Last reviewed:

Office 365 Consumer Voice publishes reviews submitted by real consumers about their experience with Microsoft 365 (Office 365). This page explains how reviews are collected, how we moderate them, what leads to a review being removed, and how businesses can respond.

How reviews are submitted

Reviews are submitted through the review form on this website. Anyone who has used Microsoft 365 — whether as a personal subscriber, a family plan member, or a business user — can submit a review. Submitters are asked to provide their name (or a pseudonym), a star rating from 1 to 5, a short title, and a description of their experience. We also ask for an email address for verification and follow-up purposes; this address is never published on the site or shared with third parties, including Microsoft. Reviews may describe any aspect of the Microsoft 365 experience: billing and subscription management, customer support quality, product performance, installation and activation, cancellation, or refund handling. There is no minimum or maximum length requirement, but we encourage reviewers to be specific — the more detail provided, the more useful the review is to other consumers.

What we check before publishing

Every review is read by a member of our moderation team before it goes live. We do not publish reviews automatically. During moderation we check that: • The review describes a genuine consumer experience with Microsoft 365 or a related Microsoft service. • It does not contain the personal data of private individuals (such as the full name or contact details of a Microsoft employee). • It does not contain defamatory, discriminatory, or illegal content. • It is not a duplicate of a review already submitted by the same person. • It is not clearly off-topic (for example, a review of a different software product submitted by mistake). We do not edit the content of a review to change its meaning, sentiment, or star rating. Minor formatting corrections — punctuation, spacing, paragraph breaks — may be applied to improve readability. We aim to publish or reject reviews within two working days of submission.

What gets removed

A published review may be removed if: • It is found to be fraudulent — for example, submitted by a competitor, a paid reviewer, or someone with a direct commercial interest in the outcome. • It contains spam, promotional content, or links to third-party websites. • It contains abusive language, hate speech, or content that is illegal under UK or Indian law. • It contains personal data about a private individual that the subject has asked us to remove. • The original reviewer contacts us and requests removal of their own review. We do not remove reviews simply because they are negative, because they are critical of Microsoft, or because Microsoft or any other party disputes the account. A legal threat alone is not sufficient grounds for removal — we assess each case on its merits and in line with our editorial policy.

Disputed reviews and how businesses can respond

If Microsoft or another party believes a published review contains factually inaccurate information, they can contact us at reviews@office365consumervoice.com with the URL of the review and a clear explanation of the disputed claim. We will notify the original reviewer and give them an opportunity to provide supporting evidence — for example, a screenshot of a billing statement, a cancellation confirmation email, or a support transcript. If the dispute cannot be resolved to both parties' satisfaction, we may add a short editorial note to the review explaining that the account is disputed, without removing the review. We will not remove a review solely on the basis of a complaint from the company being reviewed. Businesses and organisations that are the subject of reviews on this site are welcome to submit a public response. Responses are published alongside the original review and are subject to the same moderation standards: they must be factual, respectful, and free of promotional content. To submit a response, email reviews@office365consumervoice.com with the review URL and your response text.

Contact us about a review

If you believe a published review contains false information about you or your organisation, if you submitted a review and wish to have it removed, or if you would like to submit a business response, please email reviews@office365consumervoice.com with the URL of the review and the reason for your request. We aim to respond within five working days. For general enquiries about our editorial standards, see our Editorial Policy page.
