Editorial Policy
Last reviewed:
Office 365 Consumer Voice publishes independent consumer guides about Microsoft 365 (Office 365) subscriptions. This page explains how our guides are researched, how we keep them accurate, and how you can request a correction.
How guides are researched
Every guide on this site is written by a member of our editorial team who has reviewed the relevant Microsoft support documentation. We cross-reference each step against Microsoft's official help pages at support.microsoft.com and the Microsoft 365 admin centre documentation at learn.microsoft.com. We do not rely on third-party summaries or AI-generated content as a primary source. Where Microsoft's own documentation is ambiguous or out of date, we note the uncertainty in the guide.
Verification against official sources
Before a guide is published, a second team member checks each step against the current Microsoft support page for that topic. We include a direct link to the relevant Microsoft support page at the bottom of each guide so readers can verify the steps themselves. If a step cannot be verified against an official Microsoft source, it is either removed or clearly marked as community-reported.
How guides are kept up to date
Microsoft updates its products and support pages regularly. We review each guide at least once every six months, or sooner if we receive a correction request or notice a significant product change. The 'Last reviewed' date at the bottom of each guide reflects the most recent editorial review. If you notice that a step no longer matches the current Microsoft interface, please use the correction form below.
How to request a correction
If you believe a guide contains an error, please email us at editorial@office365consumervoice.com with the page URL, the step you believe is incorrect, and what the correct information should be (with a link to the Microsoft source if possible). We aim to review all correction requests within five working days. Confirmed corrections are applied to the guide and the 'Last reviewed' date is updated.
Independence and conflicts of interest
Office 365 Consumer Voice is an independent platform. We are not affiliated with, sponsored by, or paid by Microsoft Corporation or any of its partners. We do not accept payment for positive coverage of any product or service. Our guides are written solely to help consumers understand their rights and options as Microsoft 365 subscribers. We earn no commission from any link on this site.
Scope of our guides
Our guides cover Microsoft 365 Personal, Family, and Business subscription management — cancellation, renewal, refunds, billing disputes, installation, and account access. We do not cover enterprise licensing agreements (EA, MCA-E) or volume licensing, as these are managed through Microsoft's enterprise sales channels and vary by contract. For enterprise queries, contact your Microsoft account manager or visit microsoft.com/licensing.
