How to Cancel an Office 365 Subscription

Follow these steps to cancel your Office 365 or Microsoft 365 subscription and prevent future auto-renewal charges. Independent guide — not affiliated with Microsoft.

Important: Cancel at least 24 hours before your renewal date to avoid being charged for the next billing period. After cancellation, you can still use Office 365 until the end of your paid period.

Sign in to your Microsoft account

Go to account.microsoft.com and sign in with the email address linked to your Office 365 subscription.

Go to Services & Subscriptions

Click on "Services & subscriptions" in the top navigation menu to see all your active subscriptions.

Find your Office 365 subscription

Locate your Office 365 / Microsoft 365 subscription in the list and click "Manage".

Cancel the subscription

Click "Cancel" or "Turn off recurring billing". Follow the on-screen prompts to confirm cancellation.

Confirm cancellation

You should receive a confirmation email. Keep this as proof of cancellation in case of future billing disputes.
